When we talk about architectural innovation and an international vision, I immediately think of the importance of projects that stand out and redefine the urban context. This is exactly what is happening in Rabat, where a new landmark for Morocco has just been completed: the Centre de Congrès of Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique, designed by the renowned Spanish studio Bofill Taller de Arquitectura.
This monumental stone building, featuring a striking emerald auditorium, represents a creative and differentiating approach compared to the country’s traditional architectural offering. More than just a conference center, it is a multifunctional space capable of hosting academic lectures, industry conferences, public performances, and many other activities.
Despite its monolithic presence, the building offers an extraordinary variety of spaces: auditoriums of different sizes, meeting rooms, bars, cafés, and wide circulation areas. Connecting the two main “wings” of the campus, the Centre de Congrès becomes a point of physical and symbolic connection, embodying a vision open to internationalization and cross-cultural dialogue.
