What struck me in speaking with the team at DAB Motors, the French pioneers behind the minimalist electric motorcycle DAB 1α, was their bold yet simple vision: rethink electric mobility through the lens of style, culture, and purpose. The 1α has already made waves with its clean design, agile handling, and a range of nearly 100 miles—perfect for quick, everyday travel. It made me think: surfers typically drive retrofitted vans to chase waves, but why not break from the norm and ride something faster, cleaner, and far more distinctive? That question laid the foundation for an idea—reimagine the electric motorcycle as a platform for sport-specific expression.
In collaboration with Peugeot, DAB Motors has introduced a limited-edition collection of its 1α model, interpreted through five sports: basketball, boxing, skateboarding, surfing, and tennis. The series, titled “À la Gloire du Sport”, blends high-end mobility with lifestyle branding, resulting in just five unique, highly customized motorcycles.
The Surfing edition comes in ocean blue with a side rack for a surfboard and semi-knobby tires for sandy terrain. Skateboarding features a matte black carbon look with hand-painted graffiti and a skateboard mount. The Basketball version embraces bold yellow, urban-inspired styling with sporty tires and side bags for carrying shoes and gear. The Boxing model combines deep red with gold accents, nodding to the elegance of championship belts. And the Tennis version softens the palette with green and white tones, including a racket holder and a front basket for balls.
Through this initiative, DAB Motors not only pays tribute to the culture of sport but also positions its electric motorcycle as a lifestyle object—highly exclusive, fully customizable, and rich in visual storytelling. It’s a strategic move that reinforces the brand’s role in the premium electric mobility space.
