I was invited shortly after it opened, and then, a few years ago, I finally managed to spend a few days in this magnificent place. It’s magnificent not only for its structure, its location, its service, its food, but above all for the combination of all these things that makes you feel in another dimension, much calmer and more reflective than we are usually used to. For me, it was an important personal experience that I won’t forget.
The Vigilius Mountain Resort, located on top of a mountain in South Tyrol that can only be reached by cable car, turns twenty.
An innovative project for its time, built with local larch, quartz stone, clay and glass, it was a project with a special focus on responsible architecture by Matteo Thun’s studio.
When you arrive, the two things you notice most are: the scent of nature, with wood, flowers, meadows and trees. And the silence, almost absolute.
