Recently, I visited the iconic KaDeWe spaces in Berlin with a friend. These areas have long stood out for their strong focus on design and innovation, resulting in highly engaging experiences for visitors.
These are usually small spaces featuring one or more brands, each with a distinct and engaging character, spanning sectors like technology, fashion, food, and sports, among others.
What particularly caught my attention was the project by Rho Architekten: three refined treatment spaces for the beauty brand Studio358. Located on the third floor in the new beauty department next to the escalator designed by OMA, the project transforms compact retail units into highly distinctive and atmospheric environments, each dedicated to a specific service: nails, lashes, and pedicure.
Together, these three areas reflect Studio358’s philosophy—precise, elegant, and spatially distinct—while fitting seamlessly into KaDeWe’s broader architectural narrative, which over time has become a destination for inspiration as well as a unique shopping experience.
