One of the most compelling transformations, in my view, emerges when an invisible product becomes perceptible, tangible and narratively accessible. In this case, innovation can be read as the transition from manufacturing to cultural experience, where technology, design and sensory storytelling shape a new way of understanding brand value.
Xuelei Fragrance Museum Design, developed by Leaping Creative for Xuelei, brings perfume culture into an immersive dimension that combines production, knowledge, interaction and identity building. Located in Guangzhou and officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest fragrance museum, the structure spans 7,000 square meters and transforms the olfactory process into an experiential journey. The exterior in red brick references traditional perfume distillation tanks, while the white atrium uses natural light as an element of orientation and spatial clarity. At the center of the project stands a five-story vertical AI scent tower containing more than one hundred essential oil canisters. Visitors use a smart card to express preferences across 300 testing points, ultimately receiving a personalized report generated by the system. This step is central from an innovation marketing perspective: the brand does not merely present an aesthetic universe, but produces data, individual choice and direct engagement. Through nearly twenty themed exhibition areas dedicated to the history and chemistry of fragrance, the museum translates artisanal heritage into a contemporary platform for sensory culture, capable of making a normally intangible world both visible and memorable.
