The future is first experienced in the mind and then in reality. Witnessing such an immersive experience made me realize how creativity and vision can transform the way we imagine what lies ahead.
Guided by this philosophy, Visions2030 inaugurated the Lumisphere, located next to the renowned Museu do Amanhã, an icon of futuristic architecture and sustainability designed by Santiago Calatrava. Three gleaming white domes offer an immersive experience, inviting visitors to envision their ideal future while stimulating creativity and a sense of responsibility toward the planet.
The Lumisphere is more than technology: it is a platform for eco-imagination, where visitors explore sustainable scenarios through lights, sounds, and digital interactions, translating their visions into concrete images with the help of AI. Its global debut took place in Los Angeles during Earth Edition: A Festival of Eco-Consciousness, reinforcing Visions2030’s mission to replace dystopian narratives with tangible and inspiring possibilities.
Led by Fabio Scarano, Chief Curator of the Museu do Amanhã and holder of the UNESCO Futures Literacy Chair, the project bridges culture, science, and community, paving the way for globally significant events such as COP30 in Brazil. Open to hundreds of thousands of visitors each month, the installation marks the beginning of an ambitious global tour aiming to reach one billion people over the next five years, asking them: “What future do you want to create?”
