There are projects that immediately capture my attention for their ability to turn a retail space into a narrative instrument. In this case, the concept’s integration of urban memory, design creativity, and a clear vision of the retail experience creates a space that reinterprets the city’s language in a contemporary, coherent, and distinctly recognizable form.
When the fragrance brand Satinine was founded in 1883 in Milan, the city was undergoing a significant phase of urban transformation, marked by the recent opening of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and the rise of the Liberty style. The brand’s 2025 relaunch draws directly from this cultural heritage and from the intention to reinterpret one of Milanese architecture’s most distinctive elements: the entryways and transitional spaces between public and private realms. A team of creatives was engaged to reimagine the Italian Art Déco language through a contemporary lens, with designer Mara Bragagnolo leading the project. The initiative develops a narrative spatial concept that translates identity and history into a tangible experience, where the visitor’s journey becomes an integral part of the brand story. The project leverages the visual culture of the past as a creative engine to redefine high-end retail, crafting a space that unites memory, vision, and strategic positioning in a new phase of brand development.
