I read several articles on this topic because I found it interesting to understand how the two sides found common ground to collaborate on product and concept, knowing full well the strong propensity for innovation that both sides possess.
In fact, when I first learned that LoveFrom, the creative collective founded by Jony Ive, had collaborated with the Italian luxury outdoor brand Moncler on a capsule collection, I couldn’t imagine what we could expect.
And here is “LoveFrom, Moncler,” a three-layer jacket presented after four years of collaborative development.
The curious and interesting thing that somehow becomes the star of the story is one of its smallest parts: a new “duo button” that attaches with magnets, making it incredibly easy to switch between layers. A small masterpiece of functional and material engineering.
This is a celebration of the power of creativity and the ability to innovate even in the unexpected – a combination of Sir Jony Ive’s influential design mastery and Moncler’s technical excellence.
Beyond the final product – the jackets, which as a whole represent a new chapter for the brand and fashion in general – there is also innovation in the different types of packaging, created by folding a single sheet of paper and accompanied by paper models of each layerable item in the collection.
