Perched 20 meters above the ground, this innovative skatepark is redefining urban sport in Shanghai. More than just a facility for athletes, it has become a cultural landmark and a visual icon, offering a fresh perspective on urban life where movement, design, and the city’s dynamic energy intersect.
AAN Architects has brought to life Moreprk Skyline, an indoor skatepark that transforms the relationship between sport and the urban environment. Situated within a shopping center in the heart of Xuhui district, the suspended glass volume provides breathtaking panoramic views, turning skateboarding from a street activity into a three-dimensional theater of motion and architecture.
The design draws inspiration from the fluid curves of ramps and the energy of the surrounding cityscape, blending athletic dynamism with architectural sophistication. Inside, ramps, parabolas, and flowing surfaces interconnect seamlessly, allowing each trajectory to become a unique visual expression, while Shanghai’s skyline forms an interactive backdrop.
Moreprk Skyline is more than a sports facility—it is a manifesto of creative urbanism, where skaters take center stage and the city itself participates as both spectator and co-protagonist, reflected on the transparent walls and integrated into the experience.
The project demonstrates how architecture, sport, and urban landscape can coexist in harmony, transforming a traditionally anarchic sport into a symbol of innovation, visibility, and contemporary design excellence.
