As a passionate enthusiast of luxury design and the stories behind the most exclusive spaces, I’ve had the opportunity to explore a new project by Bottega Veneta, reflecting an increasing trend in the industry. Last year, we saw similar initiatives from other luxury brands, all aiming to create immersive experiences that go beyond traditional retail. These spaces contribute to an exclusive, sophisticated lifestyle context, where brands not only offer products but build unique, highly personalized experiences for their clientele.
In late November, Bottega Veneta opened the doors to a private residence, discreetly located above its Madison Avenue flagship. Designed by Matthieu Blazy prior to his move to Chanel, this serene loft was conceived as an exclusive setting for private appointments, cultural events—such as artist conversations curated by Antwaun Sargent—and red-carpet fittings.
The space’s design strikes a perfect balance between Venetian elegance and mid-century Italian design, featuring carefully curated pieces such as a vibrant Murano glass chandelier, evoking the brand’s original 1972 store, a gondola-shaped sofa by Adrian Pearsall, and works by Gino Sarfatti and the Castiglioni brothers. This residence marks the second chapter of a project that began with the opening of the first space at Palazzo Soranzo Van Axel in Venice in 2024.
