In certain regions around the world, new projects are often seen as symbols of innovation and uniqueness, reflecting the local business culture. Hyundai Capital recently completed the development of a custom-designed assembly space atop the South Tower of its global headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. The financial services leader aimed to create a versatile environment capable of accommodating large training sessions, company-wide meetings, guest lectures, and employee events.
With broad creative freedom, the design team focused on delivering a timeless and distraction-free environment, emphasizing an open and boundary-less layout. Despite this flexibility, the client’s key requirements remained central throughout the process: integrating advanced technology, ensuring superior acoustics, and implementing innovative lighting solutions were top priorities. Additionally, the company requested a visual experience that embodied their minimalist yet forward-looking brand identity.
Drawing inspiration from the Light and Space art movement and classic photographic cycloramas, the interior features a molded acoustical plaster shell as its foundation. A subtle reference to Hyundai Capital’s goal-post-shaped logo provides rhythm within the space and cleverly conceals technical elements such as lighting fixtures and sound equipment. This thoughtful integration supports both the functional and aesthetic demands of a modern corporate environment.
