One of the core principles behind my professional work has always been grounded in the power of ideas — both in the cross-pollination between sectors and within a specific one: this, in itself, is a form of innovation. With this project, in which we have invested directly and on which we have worked for more than two years, a genuinely unique approach has taken shape through the integration of distinct values that reinforce one another.
GOOS Index is the first intelligence tool with a global approach and audience designed to help professionals, companies, and institutions map and identify selected players within the complex and fragmented ecosystem of sustainable fashion worldwide. Presented officially at Pitti Uomo 110 in Florence on 18 June 2026, the project brings together over 1,000 organisations and 3,000 decision-makers operating across more than 70 countries.
The project benefits from the contribution of an international network of 20 researchers and academic advisors active across 15 countries, whose input integrates specialised knowledge and cultural perspectives on sustainability across diverse geopolitical contexts. The Index enables users to navigate ten thematic categories covering the full spectrum of the fashion ecosystem — brands and manufacturing companies, technology providers for sustainability and circularity, innovative materials producers, NGOs, universities, research centres, media, and consulting firms — across key thematic areas including climate action, circular economy, biodiversity, animal welfare, social justice, health and safety, traceability, and corporate management systems. This inaugural edition represents a selection built with methodological rigour, with the objective of disseminating information without ranking or passing judgement, making structured data available so that operators can form their own independent assessments. Information is gathered from a broad spectrum of qualified sources and curated independently by an international team, with no sponsored or paid-for content. This positioning reinforces the project’s role as a reliable information infrastructure in a rapidly evolving landscape characterised by growing demand for tools capable of supporting strategic decisions, investments, and partnerships. GOOS Index is a project of GOOS Editions, an independent publisher committed to contributing to the evolution of the sector and reaching a broad audience across both the Global North and the Global South.
