I have always appreciated and respected students who, in addition to their academic studies, are involved in concrete and especially innovative projects. This is the case with Friederic Gerlach, a product design student at Burg Giebichenstein and freelance designer.
We are talking about a mobile sauna, designed for the campus of the art and design school, with the aim of creating a meeting and relaxation point.
Located in a large park by the river Saale, the mobile sauna can be used both on campus and in the surrounding area, with the option of cooling off in the river.
The lightweight and transparent design, made with materials that contrast with traditional solid wood saunas, seats 4-5 people and can be assembled and moved by 3 people.
It is available to students and faculty through the university’s website, which includes instructions for use. The energy comes from waste wood from the model workshops, which is managed internally.
