When brands come together, the results can often be surprising.
Personally, I find it fascinating to see how certain collaborations – sometimes unexpected – can create not only spectacular moments but also continuity in brand positioning and storytelling. This is exactly the case with the latest chapter featuring Prada Linea Rossa and Red Bull, two brands that share core values of innovation, performance, and pushing boundaries.
Recently, the two partnered to support an unprecedented feat by skateboarding icon Sandro Dias, six-time vert world champion. The Brazilian athlete set new world records in both height and speed by launching himself from 70 meters (22 stories) down a ramp built from the Centro Administrativo Fernando Ferrari (CAFF) building in southern Brazil. With its natural curve resembling a giant quarter pipe, the structure was transformed into the world’s largest skate ramp for the occasion. Dias reached an extraordinary speed of 103 km/h, never before recorded in the discipline.
Prada Linea Rossa played a crucial role in the challenge: its focus on the relationship between the human body and advanced textile innovation equipped the athlete with high-performance apparel – lightweight, breathable, and heat-sealed – ensuring comfort, mobility, and dynamic efficiency under extreme conditions.
The Building Drop project represents not only a sporting milestone but also a powerful example of strategic collaboration. Prada Linea Rossa and Red Bull reaffirm their ability to merge fashion and extreme sports into a consistent and forward-looking narrative.
