I had been meaning to write about this product I saw at this year’s Salone del Mobile because I find its ability to condense functionality into such a compact space truly remarkable.
Ottagono, designed by architect Giulia Foscari, founder of Una/Unless, and unveiled at the Cassina Store in Milan during Design Week, is the result of a collaboration with Technogym, conceived as a standalone architectural object that combines design and technology in a single sculptural element. Its monolithic structure with an octagonal base stands out for its presence in the space while concealing multiple functions that would normally require separate rooms.
The project integrates light and form, transforming the object into a floor lamp that creates a dialogue between aesthetics and utility. The first iteration of this family of objects is Ottagono Gym, which completely redefines the concept of a wellness space. All the equipment needed for a full training session is contained within less than one square meter, with an integrated video system connected to advanced training technologies, enabling a comprehensive experience within an extremely compact footprint.
The design anticipates the trend of fluid and multifunctional environments, offering an elegant and surprising solution for those looking to combine physical activity, design, and innovation in residential settings.
