I discovered this new concept store for sneakers, teas, perfumes, and other products in a small, quiet, semi-basement room on a side street in a residential area of Tokyo, with an almost invisible boundary between inside and outside.
“Ura” means “reverse, opposite, behind, inverse” in Japanese. Created by fashion designer Mihara Yasuhiro, the store offers products that consider environmental and social responsibility from a multifaceted perspective.
The space is designed to create a contrast that highlights the products.
High ceilings and a play of mirrors emphasize the innovative interior design for a space of this configuration.
Like conceptual art in a public space, the irrational volume without a specific function and the flexible perimeter offer various possibilities for product display.
