AVs are rapidly approaching the point where nearly all of the required technology has been developed. The algorithms and engineering are currently being refined.
In recent years, there have been significant advances. For example, sensors can now scan the vehicle’s surroundings and tell it what to react to, ensuring greater safety for pedestrians crossing the road or another car veering onto the road into your lane.
