I often talk about hotels in the DRUMROLL section of our website because it’s an industry that’s constantly evolving. From that perspective, it offers a wealth of insights into innovation, marketing trends, new ideas, architecture, design and, more broadly, creativity and market dynamics.
Each year, the “World’s 50 Best Hotels” ranking is published, and the 2024 edition was recently unveiled in London. This time, Capella Bangkok took the top spot. The hotel is known for its serene, Zen-like atmosphere and beautiful garden filled with trees and birds.
Capella Bangkok is one of four hotels from the Thai capital in the top 50, along with Mandarin Oriental (12th), Four Seasons at Chao Phraya River (14th) and The Siam (26th).
Asia had a strong presence, with seven of the top ten hotels coming from the region. In Hong Kong, The Rosewood ranked 3rd, and The Upper House ranked 5th, while Raffles Singapore, a historic landmark, ranked 6th.
Soneva Fushi in the Maldives, ranked 8th, also won the Lost Explorer Best Beach Hotel 2024 award. Finally, the 45-story Bulgari Hotel in Tokyo, ranked 22nd, won the Nikka Best New Hotel 2024 award.
