The Drop Store’s website features products that are not real but instead designed to depict a future where water scarcity has worsened and water has become a rare commodity.
Among them are a pizza in the form of a pill retailing at $163, a 5-grain bag of rice for $89, and a 15-milliliter bottle of “pure” water that goes for $198. Even a 20-ounce bottle of “regular” water is available, but it is brown and costs $199.
This initiative, created by the ad agency Publicis Groupe for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, raises awareness about the growing water crisis and its potential impact on everyone’s lives.
