After years of consistently researching and curating content for this Drumroll section, I can confidently say that China is home to some of the most bold and compelling initiatives — not only in retail, but across a broader spectrum of innovation.
Designed by Yatofu Creatives, the store is divided into two main zones: The Garage and The Experience Hub. The latter offers an immersive shopping environment centered around ten towering desulfurization tanks, left exposed to preserve their sculptural and historical character.
The design contrasts aged textures with refined industrial materials, creating a balanced dialogue between past and present.
At the entrance, The Garage serves as an open, visible workshop for bike repairs and washing. More than a technical space, it fosters connection — among mechanics, cyclists, and the local community.
Over time, it has evolved into a neighborhood hub — a place to relax, chat, or enjoy a coffee — showing how retail can extend far beyond transactions to become a shared experience.
