We are in Turkey visiting Beymen, a store known for its ability to evolve with the times. The Istanbul sneaker store’s music-inspired interior offers a truly immersive in-store experience, thanks to a simple yet striking design by Salon Alper Derinboğaz.
The space, called “Groove Heaven,” is designed to capture those moments when we lose ourselves in music. It transforms music from a purely aural experience into a spatial one, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in sound waves. The rhythm of a bass line and its sound waves have been translated into the design elements, making the music tangible through the display shelves, floor textures and lighting arrangements.
In a world where we are becoming increasingly disconnected, we wanted to tap into the unifying power of music. By incorporating sound waves into the spatial design, they have created a space that offers an escape and a moment of relaxation amidst the hustle and bustle of shopping.
