I recently discovered Vitra’s newly opened showroom in Oslo, located in an industrial space built in 1935. Formerly a metal factory, the building later housed a gym, and remnants of its furnishings have been incorporated into the new interior as a nod to its past.
In areas where the original industrial charm was retained, the spaces were carefully stripped down, with only the bathroom, kitchen and server room undergoing significant modernization.
The open mezzanine offers a clear view of the space, and its glass block floor enhances the space with natural light from below.
