When it comes to business, it sometimes happens that we talk about places where I, like perhaps many, if not all, wouldn’t even consider working. Alternatively, the context might enhance focus and inspiration.
Every now and then I find myself repeating certain concepts, but they are actually the ones that are at the core of my work (which is also my passion) because I find certain creative and especially daring projects interesting.
The Yakitori waterfront restaurant and bar is the latest addition to the Banyan Tree Vabinafaru resort in the Maldives, a stunning example of biomimicry inspired by the elegant silhouette of pink manta rays (Pateobatis fai) found in the surrounding lagoon.
Designed by Atelier Nomadic studio, the project features a naturally ventilated and bioclimatic structure that showcases an incredible infinity pool filled with seawater and a series of catamaran nets over the water, where guests can relax with breathtaking sunset views, caressed by the gentle sea breeze.
Meticulously crafted, this architectural marvel is enhanced by the dramatic Maldivian landscape and reflected in the mirror-like lagoon.
The sinuosity of the roof extends to the jetty, providing a unique experience that connects the building and its residents to the mainland.
