The late Karl Lagerfeld’s 271-room luxury hotel project in Macau is set to open with a series of celebrations in June. The hotel’s opening was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, despite being announced in 2014. As wealthy Chinese travelers resume travel following the end of the zero-COVID-19 policy, interest in all things Lagerfeld has grown, including a recent tribute to him at the 2023 Met Gala and the Costume Institute’s spring fashion exhibition dedicated to him at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
